The Tegan and Sara Macbeth Shoes! by Sara and Emy

The last show I saw in the Grand Sierra Theater before Friday's Tegan and Sara show was the raucous gypsy party band Gogol Bordello. The two could not have been more different, so a comparison is terribly unfair, but I can't help it. After much internal debate, however, I've determined that, mellow as it was, Tegan and Sara's show will be a memory that will stand far head and shoulders above any rock show.

Although there's no doubt that Gogol Bordello rocked Reno, Tegan and Sara's music is personal and intimate, and that's how the show felt. The nearly full house was awfully quiet, but I don't think it's because people were uninterested, but rather, respectful of the singer-songwriter Quin sisters.
